Sandy Shores & Gold Beach

Sandy Shores
Sandy Shores furnishes views southeast across Puget Sound towards Federal Way.  The usual Red-necked and Horned Grebes, scoters and goldeneye swim offshore.

Find Sandy Shores by driving to Dockton as described above.  Continue through the village headed south on 99th and turn left or east on 268th.  At the T intersection with 94th, turn right or south until 275th.   Turn left and follow it down to the bottom of the bluff.

Gold Beach
This residential neighborhood presents more spectacular views of Puget Sound across towards Commencement Bay.  A number of Anna's Hummingbirds stop at feeders here.  Mourning Doves show up regularly in the neighborhood.

Gold Beach lies on the southeast shore of Maury Island.  Follow Dockton Road until the intersection with 75th just north of the golf course.  At this intersection, Dockton road curves to the right but visitors to Gold Beach should head straight onto 75th and follow it to the edge of the bluff, then continue down to the bottom towards the beach.
